Tankless Water Heater Descaling Kit

Tankless water heaters build up mineral scale inside their heat exchanger over time, especially in areas with hard water, and that scale gradually reduces heating efficiency until the unit is flushed. This kit is built around a small submersible pump that circulates a cleaning solution through the heat exchanger in a closed loop rather than a one-way rinse.

Two hoses with quick-connect fittings attach to the service valves most tankless units have built in specifically for this kind of maintenance flush, so no permanent plumbing modification is needed to perform the service. The pump runs on standard household power through its cord.

A 5-gallon bucket (not included) serves as the reservoir the kit circulates from — the pump, hoses, and fittings are sized to work with a standard bucket, keeping the setup simple rather than requiring a dedicated tank. Regular descaling this way extends the working life of a tankless unit meaningfully compared to never flushing it.
